Summary of my blogs

What makes a good sports coach?

Having a sports-based lifestyle I have had many different sports coaches. I have had football coaches, boxing trainers and PE teachers. One thing I have learnt throughout the years is sports coaches make a huger impact than you initially think. Their importance to shaping your goals is crucial as your career is in your hands as well as theirs.

Nutrition/Diet

Nutrition and diet have played a huge part in my life. Being born prematurely with meningitis meant I always needed important food and medicine. Also, throughout the past 2 years, I have been weight training as a hobby as well as improving my figure and overall performance. This meant, to achieve the goals I had to put a diet plan in place to support my progress.

MMA – Mixed Martial Arts

MMA has not benefited me in terms of the physical aspect; however, I am aware of the training basis of the sport and how the sport is put together. In terms of watching on a spectator level, I’d say I am quite passionate in terms of keeping up with championship events and professional athletes’ lifestyles. MMA Is not just fighting it is a sport that serves many purposes than just fighting.

Weight training

Linking to diet weight training has improved my health and wellbeing as well as my overall level of productivity. It has helped me produce a structure in which my day to day lifestyle is more efficient. Also, weight training for me has been an excellent way for me to step out of my comfort zone and try something I never thought I’d love.

Sports injuries

Injuries have been quite persistent throughout my life due to it being filled with sport. Whether that was injuries from playing out as a child to sustaining them whilst training in the gym. Injuries have always humbled me and taught me that life isn’t about how many times you’ve fallen, it is about how many times you’re been able to get back up and carry on.

The process of sports injuries

having knowledge of the sport as well as participating in it has been an important aspect of participating. Knowing the right techniques has prevented me from sustaining injuries in some cases. When I would sustain injuries, having the knowledge supported my recovery by allowing me to use the right methods when recovering.

An enthusiastic and focused 19 year old university student currently studying sports science, I am an individual who is able to combine a polite manner with excellent people skills. I am relatively experienced in terms of working both as part of a team and becoming an asset to contributing to the growth of the business. Passionate and hardworking, I carry out everything with a hundred percent effort. I always look forward to trying new things and facing new challenges. Experiencing a young sport established life has always motivated me to achieve more. It’s these qualities that I wish to channel towards a successful career in PE teaching. I aspire to help younger children develop their love for sports while creating an environment in which they will feel comfortable in.
